The small Italian village of Canna is awakened by
a classical music festival that invites internationally
recognized musicians to perform some of the world’s
most famous compositions.
For three weeks every summer Incontri di Canna
brings together cultures, people and experiences
from across the globe. Spearheaded by the Canadian
father-son duo of renowned cellists William and
Jeremy Findlay, Concert in Canna unfolds the history
of Incontri di Canna, its passionate organizers and the
talented musicians who bring the music to life.
The documentary features interviews with the
musicians, footage of their tireless rehearsals, and
the final anxious hours leading up to the group's
performance. Concert in Canna appeases both sight
and sound, while revealing the joys and complexities
of organizing an international event in a picturesque
village tucked away in the southern hills of Italy.
